Copy & Co
Hong Kong + London
The founder reached out to us at the advent of a business concept to connect start-up companies with copywriting services for content that “cuts through the noise,” across the range of blog posts, email marketing campaigns, social media, brochures, and the like. She needed assistance in creating a brand for this brainchild, starting with its name.
After some brainstorming, the key ingredients revealed themselves. The name was to be Copy & Co—to represent both the foundation of the service offering (words!) and the collective—with a corresponding visual language that would capture a sense of history alongside a modern sensibility (think large punctuation marks). Inspired by old newspapers and letters, the site uses a restrained design and color palette that winks at a bygone era of study cum library cum cigar club.
Peek into the parts and pieces of our process below, and in case you can’t wait to see the how it all came together, here is the link to Copy + Co.

Brand Inspiration
Clever I Classic I Cozy
“I’ve been writing books for years, but have never really created a dedicated web presence for it. Working with Maxwell changed everything for me! Not only did it give me an online home for my writing, it got me thinking about the marketing work that I do, and I ended up creating not one but two different brands and websites with them. It has been so much more professional, collaborative, and inspiring than any other agency experience I’ve had having worked in marketing for over a decade, I’ve worked with many different agencies).”
— Adele Barlow, founder of Copy & Co
P.S…
Adele was in Hong Kong when Copy & Co launched, but we couldn’t miss out on officially marking this milestone together. Our fix: a champagne toast via Zoom! Rituals are highly observed at Maxwell, and we wouldn’t have want to miss giving Copy & Co a proper “bon voyage” to its next chapter.
