Color of the Year - in situ
Our founder has a little fun playing around with Viva Magenta in a home environment.
Even before I was involved in the design/graphic space, I have always been drawn to Pantone. Especially their predictions around the “Color of the Year.” To make such a claim feels so bold, such a confident claim… to state a color is the color of the year. While I feel amused and almost cynical by the confidence, I also love it. It’s like staking a color claim in the sand, coloring it for the year, with no turning back.
This years color, Viva Magenta was surprising, but fun. Pinterest predicted last fall that their would be a trend towards what they called “Dopamine Dressing,” and this color feels like it belongs in that dopamine closet.
For a client of ours, the Vashon Island Sotheby’s International Realty team, we recently curated some art with magenta tones, and showed the pieces in more neutral spaces. I felt this was necessary, being in the Northwest, with a bent towards white, cream, black, and wood. :)
See our curated collection below, and let us know if you’d add anything to it!
